September 24 - Home and Car Safety Workshop
Presented by York Region Community & Health
Services, Keep your child safe by learning the leading causes of childhood injuries and how to prevent them. This
workshop will focus on common injuries in and around the home, where injuries happen most, as well as car seat safety information
to ensure your child is riding safely, including installation and harnessing tips.
October 1 - The Impact of Food on Your Child's
Health Does your child experience colic, constipation, eczema, recurrent
ear infections or asthma? We are excited to welcome back Meredith Deasley, B.A., R.H.N., R.N.C.P., and Registered Pediatric
Nutritionist. Meredith increases awareness of food sensitivities and allergies, explains which foods are the biggest
culprits and why and describes various alternative therapies for keeping children the healthiest possible i.e. food, chiropractic,
homeopathy.

your child’s behavioral concerns with practical strategies that will help you parent your children with confidence and
bring consistency and respect to your home.

Dr. Anna Bushmina, HD (M.D. Europe) will be touching on a variety of topics; Why it
is so critical for baby’s health to sleep well and enough, when to start scheduled naps, how to make sure you baby sleeps
through the night. Toys, stimulation and media – learn how it affects your child. Learn what choices you have in the immunization
process and how homeopathy can support your decision. Also putting together a medicine chest to meet your family's basic
wellness needs will be discussed. Bring your question.
Nov. 12 -Gentle Parenting Gentle discipline means, quite simply, placing empathy and respect at the very centre of your parenting. Teaching
a toddler not to slap a playmate, and helping a child to understand that crayons aren't permitted on the wallpaper are much
more difficult than we first anticipated. This informative and interactive discussion will discuss strategies,
evidence and explore thoughts about Gentle Discipline or otherwise known as Gentle Guidance. Facilitated by Denise Martin
